Exploring Pompeii, one of Italy's top attractions

Mount Vesuvius, a still-active volcano, looms over the Bay of Naples. The volcano, which erupted in 79 AD, destroyed the city of Pompeii. The ruins of Pompeii are now one of Italy's most popular visitor attractions.
