Tony Irving holds a sliver of Tissint, the rock that fell from space in July 2011 that he earlier this year identified as being the first documented meteorite fall from Mars since the 1960s and the fifth such fall ever recorded. Tissint is named for a Moroccan village near where it landed, and has enthralled geologists around the world.
