Seattle's old buildings: Opportunities, not obstacles

Amazon.com New location, the Van Vorst Building, 413-421 Boren Ave. N. A designated city landmark, the Van Vorst Building was used as a warehouse for the Frederick & Nelson department store, then as a mattress factory. Its façade is incorporated into Amazon's new office development in the South Lake Union neighborhood.
