A Seattle remodel for modern living and period charm

A complete remodel of the kitchen involved removing dark oak cabinetry, blue Formica counters and a drop ceiling, which added 3 to 4 feet to the room's height. The new kitchen is functional for a modern family yet has a traditional feel with Carrara-marble counters, Lacanche range and an antique factory fixture (that Barbara Herrington found online) over the island.
