Sept. 11 propelled her into military, marriage

Jacqueline Lavelanet, who worked at an accounting firm in Phoenix before 9/11, enlisted in the Army after the attacks because she felt moved to do something. She has since served in two wars and has a career in intelligence with the National Guard. "Something so massive shakes you and wakes you up," she said.
