In Langley, Wash., togetherness comes one citizen at a time

The century-old buildings on Langley's historic First Street hold thoroughly modern shops, galleries and restaurants. You won't find a gas station, chain store or stoplight in Langley, but the locally owned Star Shore, seen here with windows glowing, sells everything from stylish clothes to Whidbey Island wines and produce.
