Seattle's Yesler Terrace faces the future

Construction of Interstate 5 in the early 1960s destroyed 263 units of Yesler Terrace and caused the slide visible at the top right. The freeway segregated Yesler from the rest of downtown, created dead-end streets and damaged pedestrian circulation.
