Allen and Kathleen Shoup's home in The Highlands, decorated by the both of them, is comfort first, exemplified by the living room. The Shoups' style is eclectic. "I grew up in a house with early-American furniture, the bad kind," Allen says of his desire to get it right in his own home. "The chocolate walls and the white paint I give credit to (interior designer) Bill Stickland."
