The Shoups moved two doors down in 2000 and spent three years remodeling the home built in the 1920s by the Hoge family. This building originally was the carriage house to the home next door. Bill Boeing bought it and separated the property, Shoup says. The architect was Carl F. Gould, founder of the UW architecture department.
