Food lovers hit the road for the sleepy wheat-country town of Waitsburg

The black-and-white flag painted on the old American Legion building — upsetting to many Waitsburgers — is the artistic statement of its owner, Walla Walla vintner Charles Smith. Some have called it unpatriotic.
