Dreamliner makes history with plastic, outsourcing, design — and delays

One piece made in Washington: The tail fin is displayed for the first time in March 2007 in Frederickson, Pierce County. It's the only major part of the 787 built by Boeing in Washington, but another tail-fin facility is now planned for elsewhere.
