S.C. decision transforms Boeing's relationship with Washington, labor unions

The Machinists union struck Boeing for two months last year, adding to myriad delays in the new 787 Dreamliner program. Boeing's current contract with the Machinists will expire in 2012, and Boeing watchers say what happens then will influence decisions over where the company's future airplane programs will go.
