2 tunneling machines on Brightwater sewer project are damaged — and 300 feet deep
This photo, taken last year, shows a rail car working inside the eastern segment of a 13-mile tunnel under construction from the Brightwater sewage-treatment plant to Puget Sound. Boring on the 2.7-mile eastern section, which runs from Bothell's North Creek area to the treatment-plant site, was completed in November; three remaining sections of tunnel are half to two-thirds complete.
