Loving machines and the dreams they inspire, airplane enthusiasts pursue their passion
Bob Dempster, a former teacher, holds a model of the 1924 World Cruiser, which made the first world circumnavigation. Dempster plans to re-create the trip once he finishes building a full-size replica of the plane — a task that's so far taken eight years.
