Exxon Valdez oil-spill recovery still is work in progress, 20 years later
John Renner, of Bellingham, will be on shore during this spring's herring harvest due to a prolonged collapse of the stock. He was ready to fish in March 1989 when the Exxon Valdez oil spill canceled the harvest.
