Wine & Spirits 2008

Virginie Bourgue, a French-born and -trained winemaker, now calls Walla Walla home. She is the winemaker for Cadaretta, owned by the Middleton family, which has been doing business in Washington since 1898. Bourgue also operates her own small winery, Lullaby. In the River Rock Vineyard, which grows viognier and syrah grapes for Lullaby, Bourgue shows off cobblestones that are used to retain heat around the vines.
