Northwest sea lions teach humans the folly of fighting Mother Nature
Steve Johnson with the Portland Animal Defense League protests the deaths of six sea lions on the Columbia River this past May. While initial reports indicated that the animals had been shot, that turned out to be wrong. Something or someone agitated the animals so much that their bodies overheated and they essentially boiled to death. Despite an investigation, why that happened remains a mystery.
