Spreading the wealth

Jesus Arredondo Rojo, a Concord Elementary fifth-grader, plants veggies and herbs at the four-acre Marra Farm in the South Park neighborhood. Rojo was participating in the Apple Corps Program, which offers practical examples of healthy eating in school communities. In 2007, six Seattle Foundation donors interested in childhood obesity and nutrition first funded the program.
