Spreading the wealth
Phyllis Campbell, president/CEO of the Seattle Foundation, mingles during a celebration honoring the group's 2007 Community Grant Making Program recipients this past spring. Each year, the foundation awards $50 million to nonprofits, 85 percent of which are in King County. Campbell said her transition from a banking executive to the foundation has been gratifying, mainly because she can combine the best skills and experience from business with her desire to contribute to the community directly.
