Testing the limits | On a punishing trail, personal truths are the reward
Food and drink are piled in the parking lot next to signs for each aid station. In preparing for the run, race director Charlie Crissman had said "We're going to buy up as much as Costco has." Volunteers haul the kits to each of 17 stations around the course and stand watch, handing out encouragement along with the food and drink.
