Racing outriggers take a cultural revival along for the ride

Early Sunday morning on Lake Washington, Sail Sand Point's six-person canoes practice for 90 minutes, aiming for a 60-strokes-per-minute rhythm. The paddlers belong to just one of a dozen clubs in the Northwest focused on maintaining the traditions and spirit of Hawaiian outrigger culture.
