Early volunteers turned away from working on Bay Area oil spill
A group of volunteers help Monday with the oil-spill cleanup on Ocean Beach, Calif. Officials, though, want volunteers off beaches, citing concerns about public health and the safety of frightened wildlife. About 58,000 gallons of oil was spilled from a cargo ship.
