Fungi fest offers a taste of treasures
Two mushrooms associated with the European white birch tree are the edible birch bolete, far left, and a species of milk cap (note the milky substance oozing from the gills) that can be toxic. Both were found under the same tree just feet apart, illustrating the need for practiced ID skills.
