From Virus To Vaccine
At the Harborview Women's Research Clinic, Courtney Banzer, 27, receives the new HPV vaccine (to protect against four types of HPV) from Dana Varon. When she was a UW student almost a decade ago, Banzer volunteered to test the first HPV-16 vaccine. Recently, her antibodies were tested to see if the original vaccine provided lasting protection.
