Newest Boeing jet rises from spools of thread

Inside Boeing's Frederickson plant, a computer-controlled robotic tape-laying machine lays down strips of Toray's resin-infused carbon-fiber tape. Layer by layer, it builds up the skin panel of an airplane tailfin.
