Dam is gone, salmon are back

30-foot-tall Goldsborough Dam towers over catch-and-release fisherman Luke Hiatt in summer 2000. The creek had first been dammed in 1885. After flood damage in 1996, Simpson Timber Co. decided the dam had become a liability. It came down in 2001.
