People touched by cancer light small paper lanterns during a Light the Way for Cancer ceremony at the boat pond in Lake Union Park on Wednesday, the eve of National Cancer Research Month. The ceremony, hosted by the fundraising biking event Obliteride, supported the ongoing research efforts at Seattle's Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Half of all men and one in three women in the U.S. will develop cancer during their lifetime.
