17th Annual Seattle Elvis Invitationals

LINDSEY WASSON / THE SEATTLE TIMES

Rob Schwertley, wearing a jumpsuit modeled after the "Mexican sundial" suit Elvis wore at his last concert on June 26th, 1977, gets some hands in the air as he performs "My Way" at the 17th Annual Seattle Elvis Invitationals at the EMP's Sky Church on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014. Schwertley came in third overall. Twenty-one amateur Elvi, backed by the Kentucky Rain Band and the Graceland Five, crooned and belted out their best impressions of "The King" in glitzy night hosted by the Mexican Elvis, El Vez.

Vince Hill, known as "Elvince," waits in the wings with his custom belt as he listens to other Elvi perform. "Taking Care of Business," or TCB, shown on Hill's belt, was a personal motto of Elvis's and the name of his core rhythm section band.
