Fog looms over region

KEN LAMBERT / THE SEATTLE TIMES

Yi-Ning Fairbanks, 37, of Marysville scrambles out to a view atop Mt. Pilchuck, Sat., Oct. 19, 2013 near Granite Falls. Hikers got all the sun as a blanket of fog covers much of the Puget Sound region below, including Seattle. It is Fairbanks' first time climbing the popular peak and she noted it was a special day. Fairbanks remembers her aunt who passed away 15 years ago to the day, in their native Taiwan.
